This is an introduction to representational drawing geared toward the attention span and motor coordination of children thru adults. It is a great class for native Spanish speakers and/or older students wishing to combine improving their Spanish as a second language skills in addition to focusing on art and learning about their world with the eduArts focus that Monart brings to the online classroom!
Students quickly learn to recognize the elements of shape and are introduced to various choices of how to interpret the lesson, in their own creative rendering of the subject and background.
Students will be encouraged to ask questions in a chat forum during class. There will be polls taken to ensure the needs of the class are being taken into consideration. Is the class too slow? Is it too fast? At the end of each class students will be encouraged to take a photo or scan of their drawings and send them to: firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can better assess the lesson modality and how it is translating to the individual students. This will enable us to tailor our lessons more closely to your child’s/teens needs.
Media: Graphite Pencils, Pens, Colored Pencils, Markers, Chalk Pastels, Watercolors – see additional info below
Students in our “LIVE” class will will be encouraged to ask questions in a chat forum during class. There will be polls taken to ensure the needs of the class are being taken into consideration. Is the class too slow? Is it too fast? What questions do you have? We will also ask the students to share their pictures with the rest of the class.
Students in our “REPLAY” classes will not have the interactive feedback of a “LIVE” class, however, they can still learn quite a bit from watching. These classes are priced slightly lower to make them affordable to all. These classes will be pre-recorded earlier in the same week (so yes, they are still “new” lessons).
Below are the art supplies needed for this class. Feel free to purchase anywhere. If you are on a tight budget… purchase the first 5 items to begin the class and add supplies as you can. This means if there is an chalk pastel project, you will still learn about chalk pastels, but you will need to adapt your drawing to color pencils until you have the appropriate supplies (which is quite doable in the short term).
